Phoenix Marketing Services Has Been Providing
Successful Solutions for More Than 30 Years
In 1976, Cindy and Dave Casey established Phoenix Marketing Services Inc. as a Pomona, California-based business forms manufacturer. More than 30 years later, Cindy and Dave are still involved in the firm’s activities, but Phoenix Marketing has evolved into an entirely different company.
Today, we’re based in Claremont, California. Our 200 employees who work here and at Phoenix de México in Rosarito, Baja California, provide a full range of marketing services to a diverse roster of clients nationwide. Our professional services cover the entire scope of marketing: advertising, design, interactive media, pre-press, printing, bindery, fulfillment, warehousing and shipping — all under one roof, with each Phoenix department managed by an experienced leader.
Delivering in Days, Not Weeks
When Phoenix was first established, we had an ample amount of available press time and were able to provide our clients with finished forms in days instead of weeks, which was the industry standard. The fast turnaround pleased our clients who had invested millions on computer equipment because they could immediately use the forms.
Managing Our Clients’ Inventories
Many of our clients wanted to reduce their unit cost by buying in large quantities but did not have enough space to store product. So soon after Phoenix was founded, we began storing and managing clients’ excess inventory. Low-order points were established at a client’s place of business and counts were taken on a regular basis to keep their shelves full. Items that needed filling were picked, packed, shipped and placed on the client’s shelves. Inventory reports sent by mail to clients documented quantities on hand and items that were reaching low points. Today, requests and reports are handled via toll-free phone numbers, faxes and e-mails.
In-House Creative Department Performs Faster
Another milestone was reached in 1980 when we established our own creative department to fulfill our clients’ needs for a professional source to design their forms and other marketing materials in a more timely manner. Our clients turned to us because they needed to get to market faster than the slow pace of their ad agencies. Today, we work closely with our clients to identify marketing objectives, develop strategies, establish creative and follow through to completion for a wide range of advertising, design and interactive projects. And we do it on time, every time, within the established budget.
Fulfillment Fills Clients’ Needs
In 1982, several of Phoenix’s clients requested services that were labor intensive. The cruise lines needed documents prepared, insurance companies required intricate gluing and filling of their presentation folders and a spa company needed parts connected and placed in bags. Phoenix de México was created to provide inexpensive labor for our clients’ hand assembling needs.
New Media Keeps Clients on Cutting Edge
As the world embraced the dawning of the digital age, Phoenix Marketing Services responded in 1998 by creating a new division to serve the emerging media market. In the years since, our staff of graphic designers, programmers and developers has grown along with the interactive industry and now provide a variety of services, including new site design, software development, existing site evaluation and site element design.
The Wonder of One-to-One Marketing
In 2004, Phoenix began to focus on helping clients market on a one-to-one basis by personalizing and customizing direct-mail pieces. The results have been phenomenal. Response rates have sharply improved and retention rates have gone through the roof. That same year, we added printing on demand, a Web-based ordering system for marketing collateral. The new service allows our clients and their clients to go online to create, review, order and mail marketing collateral with the click of a mouse.
The Future is Now, and We’re Ready
We continually ask ourselves: “What will be the next technological breakthrough that will change the way we do business?” At Phoenix Marketing Services, we’re always analyzing ways in which we can complete your project faster and better while controlling the cost of running a customer-centric business. With that in mind, we recently acquired a Mitsubishi Diamond 3000TP, a 10-color press that enables one-pass printing of both sides without tumbling the sheet after fully printing one side. Our new press — only one of two in use in California — will enable us to significantly increase our productivity and performance, and maintain competitive costs in the marketplace. To be sure, the next breakthrough is on the horizon. And you can be confident that we’ll give it careful consideration if it results in Phoenix being an even better provider of marketing services to you in the years ahead.
